One producer. One event. A year of content.
Associations don't need a crew of twelve. They need one person who can move through a convention centre without slowing it down, who sees the keynote, the awards banquet, the expo hall and the hallway conversation as parts of the same story, and who can turn all of it into content that works long after the last attendee flies home.
Our familiarity with the Destination Canada brand is paramount through the pre-production, production and post-production phases of these projects. With good preparation, and a fly on the wall approach, we aim to capture real and spontaneous images. We capitalize on situations with optimal light (ie. golden hour) in order to showcase the beauty of the surrounding environment. We prioritize the presence of people in my compositions in order to create a sense of place and establish a connection between the viewer and the subject and immersing them in the scene. We strategically capture a wide variety of actions and angles to ensure we have everything we need to tell a clear story in the final video edit.
In the post-production process, we employ storytelling techniques, including the use of an opening "hook", which gives the viewer a compelling peek into the narrative and grips the audience from the first frame.

B-Roll & Final Delivery
Our founder Ben Johnson is often the sole photographer/videographer on set and manages the photography, video b-roll, interviews, timelapses and hyperlapses. In post-production we work closely with Destination Canada through feedback cycles to ensure the final deliverables meet the desired objectives. We typically deliver a sequence of the very best b-roll for the Brand Canada Library, a two minute video from the event, and 200+ photographs. We also deliver an average of 15 same-day photographs to include in daily communications for guests to share with their network.
